Accuracy method

How Destiny Unfolds tests astrology accuracy before predictions

Learn the Destiny Unfolds accuracy method: past-event checking, confidence labels, uncertainty handling, and why the product asks the chart to prove itself first.

Why this page exists

  • Past-event verification
  • Confidence labels
  • Uncertainty is visible

Direct answer

Destiny Unfolds does not treat astrology accuracy as blind belief. The product first checks whether chart timing can explain known past windows, then uses confidence labels and uncertainty boundaries before future guidance. Strong past fit can increase trust; weak fit should lower confidence or prompt better birth data.

Live: what real users say about their past checks

When someone runs the free past-accuracy check, the chart describes dated windows from their own past and they mark each one — landed, partly, or not really. We publish the aggregate here, including the misses. No astrology site should ask for trust it won't measure.

Collecting in the open: 4past windows rated so far. We show percentages only once at least 30 ratings are in — a small sample shouldn't masquerade as a track record. Every rating, including misses, will count.

How the engine is built and checked

Planetary positions

astronomy-engine (VSOP87 + ELP2000), ±1 arcminute

Library verified against NASA JPL Horizons; runs locally, no third-party astrology API in the chart path.

Ayanamsa calibration

Lahiri, KP, Raman, True Chitra, Yukteshwar

KP and Raman polynomials match Swiss Ephemeris canonical series to under 1 arcsecond over 1700–2100 (recalibrated after a 2026 audit found 0.12° drift).

Rahu/Ketu nodes

Mean and true (osculating) node, user-selectable

The osculating computation is cross-validated against the independent Meeus periodic series — two different methods agree within 0.2° across 60+ years of test dates.

Panchang

All five angas match Drik Panchang within 2 minutes

Computed astronomically from your coordinates' sunrise; cross-validation harness re-runnable any time (scripts/panchang-compare.ts).

Regression safety

1,750+ automated tests, golden chart fixtures, backtest harness

Dasha boundaries, divisional charts, ayanamsa values, and known charts are locked by tests that run on every change.

What accuracy means here

Accuracy means the chart timing should meaningfully line up with dated, user-recognizable life windows. It does not mean every event is predetermined or that every claim deserves equal confidence.

The product treats every future-oriented answer as downstream of input quality, chart fit, and the user's lived feedback.

How Destiny Unfolds calculates timing

The engine starts with birth date, exact time when available, and birthplace. It uses Jyotish timing structures such as Vimshottari dasha, antardasha, Moon-based periods, transits, and chart factors that can be compared against real dates.

A public calculator can give a useful preview, but the highest-confidence flow needs the full chart because houses, lagna, divisional charts, and birth-time sensitivity change interpretation.

How the trust loop works

Destiny Unfolds calculates chart timing, selects past windows, asks the user whether the signal landed, and summarizes the hit/partial/miss pattern. That result becomes a trust receipt rather than hidden model behavior.

The strongest trust signal is not a dramatic claim. It is a calm pattern across multiple past windows that the user recognizes without being pressured.

Deterministic vs interpretive

Dasha dates, Moon-sign Sade Sati windows, and chart placements are deterministic outputs from the chosen inputs and calculation rules. Meaning, advice, and future interpretation are probabilistic and context-sensitive.

That distinction matters for trust: a date can be calculated, but a life outcome must be interpreted with humility and user context.

What lowers confidence

Uncertain birth time, vague event dates, mixed rule agreement, weak past fit, or a result that depends on one isolated factor should reduce confidence. Honest uncertainty is part of the product promise.

What Destiny Unfolds does not claim

Destiny Unfolds does not claim medical, legal, financial, or relationship certainty. It should not be used to replace professional help or personal agency.

The product is designed to make timing reflection clearer, calmer, and more testable — not to create fear or fatalism.

Frequently asked questions

Can astrology be proven with one event?

No. One event is not enough. Destiny Unfolds looks for patterns across multiple windows and should treat the result as confidence-building, not absolute proof.

What happens if the past check misses?

A miss should lower confidence, invite better birth data, or shift the reading to broader guidance rather than forcing a dramatic prediction.

Why test the past before the future?

Past checking gives the chart a chance to earn trust against dated events the user already knows. If the past does not fit, future confidence should be lower.

Does Destiny Unfolds make deterministic claims?

No. It separates deterministic chart calculations from interpretive guidance and uses uncertainty labels when inputs or past fit are weak.
